I was roped into the office to help with filing, laminating, and answering calls. I didn’t realise it then, but I was learning what it meant to truly care about a business and the people who make it work.
That interest led me to study Business and Human Resources Management, and I graduated with a First Class Honours degree. I started in the corporate world, working in Talent Acquisition for a global company. It was fast-paced and packed with learning. It taught me a lot about what good people practices look like. But something was missing.
So, I went back to where it all began: the family business. Over the years, I helped it grow by finding the right people and building them up through training and support. I learned the power of investing in your team and the weight of hard decisions. When the time came to restructure and downscale, I saw first-hand how emotional and complex those choices are and how vital it is to do them with care and clarity.
It was in those moments, not just the celebrations, but the challenges, that I knew this is what I’m meant to do: support growing businesses, take the pressure off, bring a fresh perspective, and ensure the people side is never an afterthought.
